Move from a keyword to a contextual reading
Start with the card name, its orientation and its spread position. Then read the relevant meaning rather than combining every interpretation on a page. Upright and reversed meanings are interpretive conventions; different traditions may disagree. Individual guides identify historical sources where they compare those traditions.
For example, the Two of Swords in an advice position can prompt you to name a decision you are postponing. In a challenge position, it can prompt you to identify information you still need. Neither use proves that another person is hiding something. The position changes the question, not the facts of the situation.
The reference lists cover all 78 cards; the directory below contains a smaller collection of longer card and technique guides. There is no need to memorize the whole deck before using a three-card spread. Write a first interpretation, compare it with the guide, and note which observation or question makes it useful to you.
